Book
Bothering the World, Part 2
A continuation of the series, expanding the scope to worldwide consequences and long-term change.
Book Summary
Part 2 opens with Alistair's new notebook and Daniel's unresolved question, then bridges through Washington before moving to Delhi. From there the story travels through Tokyo, Amman, Beirut, and Ramallah, always grounding large politics in specific encounters and working relationships.
Key chapters with Meena, Dr Anand, Rahul Mehta, Keiko Hayashi, Layla Hassan, and Nadia's classroom keep the narrative centered on people who carry institutions at human scale. Margaret's parallel chapters sharpen the novel's method: attention, boundary-setting, and protecting others from becoming material.
By the final chapters, what is decided is not a grand solution but a way of living: presence over posture, practice over display. The epilogue's version twenty-nine painting frames the ending as resumption, not completion, and leaves the series in motion.
