London Gin: The Street Came First
With London Gin, I knew the street before I knew the whole plot.
Cobblers Row arrived as a living community long before the wagon crash did.
That mattered because comedy without affection gets thin very quickly. I needed readers to feel that these people truly belong to one another. Once the street felt alive, the mischief had stakes.
Laughter became a way to protect dignity, not just to entertain.
